IMPORTANT INFORMATION: PLEASE READ
- We are trying to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on our patients and staff. If you are coming in for a sick visit, you must speak directly with one of our doctors in advance by phone. If the doctor feels you may be at risk for having contracted COVID-19, you may be asked to self-quarantine and we will provide a telephone consultation to evaluate and treat you remotely.
- It is important to remember that more than 80% of cases are MILD and require nothing more than time and over-the-counter medications for recovery. There is no specific treatment at this time.
- If your symptoms are severe, such as high fever or shortness of breath you may need to be evaluated at one of our regional emergency departments (such as GW, Georgetown, Sibley, Suburban, Children’s Hospital or Washington Hospital Center). Your doctor will call ahead to alert the emergency department physician of your arrival and will stay in touch with you to coordinate appropriate follow up care.
- At this time, due to a nationwide shortage, we do not have the necessary personal protective equipment to conduct testing for COVID-19, flu or strep. We are hoping that regional and local testing centers will be available soon, as recently indicated by federal and state officials.
- If you are coming for a sick visit that has been approved by your doctor, we have designated a waiting area that is separated from patients coming in for injections or routine follow up visits.
- In general and at this time, if you are healthy, or if you are sick and have been cleared by your doctor, it is important that you continue to get your allergy injections and keep your appointments so you can keep your lungs and sinuses healthy in order to fight all respiratory viruses including COVID-19.
